Egypt’s Court Suspends All Judicial Rulings On Tiran and Sanafir

The Egyptian Constitutional Court has suspended judicial rulings issued by the Supreme Administrative Court and the Court of Urgent Matters in the nullity of the border demarcation agreement between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, according to Egyptian television.

 

The Egyptian parliament recently approved the agreement on the delimitation of maritime borders with Saudi Arabia, signed by the Egyptian and Saudi sides in April 2016.

 

The Supreme Administrative Court and the Cairo appellate court earlier ruled null and void the signing of the maritime demarcation agreement between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

 

The Egyptian Cabinet approved the agreement under which the dependency of the islands of Tiran and Sanafir was

transferred to Saudi Arabia.
