The Arab Strategy Forum (ASF) Announces “Geopolitical And Economical Analysis And Forecasting Programme For Decision Makers

The Arab Strategy Forum (ASF) has unveiled “Geopolitical and Economic Analysis Forecasting Programme for Decision Makers,” the second term of its Executive Education Programme, which aims to provide the best methods and tools for leaders, decision makers and researchers to enhance their strategic in decision-making skills , and forecasting the most important political and economic events locally and globally, which will reflect directly on the work of their business operations  and governments.

In association with Eurasia Group, the programme will be held on 10 and 11 December 2017. This will also allow participants to attend the Arab Strategy Forum on 12 December 2017– an event, which is poised as the premier platform in the region for forecasting global trends, insights and impactful strategies in 2018.

Suha Al Aleeli, Director of the Arab Strategy Forum, said, “We live in a rapidly changing region with many political and economic events playing out on a daily basis. This has a direct impact on the destinies of the people in this region and also influences the policy planning of many countries around the world. Therefore, the importance of the programme is centered around developing the core foundations and rules to forecast these events, finding processes to cope with the rapid and ongoing changes in the region and determining the best plans to address those changes in order to benefit the people and countries in the region.”

Al Aleeli stressed that participants of the programme will have the opportunity to acquire skills in political and economic forecasting by studying and determining the political trends and forecasting the risks surrounding them through reference frameworks, which will help them to form future visionary plans for governments, private sector institutions and financial markets.

The participants will also get training on the best ways to develop dynamic plans for their business processes and internal policies, which will help them apply analytical tools to meet political and economic challenges and reduce future risks.

The programme for decision makers targets all executive directors, decision makers in public and private institutions, as well as planners and strategists across all sectors.

Participants will receive an certification from the Arab Strategy Forum and Eurasia Group.

In December 2016, the Arab Strategy Forum launched the first Executive Education Programme in order to enhance the role of the ASF in forecasting the future by fostering the skills of specialists, and building a generation of researchers and scholars with great knowledge of political and economic forecasting skills.

The programme was highly successful and received widespread acclaim and appreciation from the participants, which in turn led to the Forum’s administration deciding to announce the second programme in the coming year to coincide around the same time as the annual Arab Strategy Forum.

In his review comments as one of the participants in the first session of the Executive Education Programme, Atraf Shehab, Director of the Future Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, said, “The programme is very important as it greatly contributed in providing us with many significant insights relevant to the world of forecasting the future. It also provided us with a clear vision on the foundations of forecasting, especially, in the area of geopolitical strategies.”

He added that in a rapidly changing world, the government sector today is in dire need of identifying the right methods in making future forecasts due to its immense importance in developing different strategies for government work and decision making.

Another participant, Mohammed Shaal, Executive Director of Corporate Strategic Affairs at Dubai Department of Economic Development stressed that the programme held immense importance for managers and executives and added, “The programme highlights the optimal planning methods in the economies of countries and provides sufficient information to develop future economic plans and how to attract foreign investment. The programme also contributes to developing the forecasting skills of executive managers and teaches them how to effectively apply them at all stages of strategic planning.”
