Redcon Medical Parks To Complete Phase 1 Of Alburouj Medical District by 2021

Redcon Medical Parks (RMP) expects to complete the first phase of its flagship Alburouj Medical District project in East Cairo by 2021, chairman of parent company Redcon Group has said.

RMP is a full-service healthcare real estate development subsidiary of Redcon Development, part of Egyptian construction conglomerate Redcon Group.

The first phase of the 2 billion Egyptian pounds ($113 million) medical park project would be completed by the first quarter of 2021, Tarek El Gammal told Thomson Reuters Projects.

“The entire development would be completed by 2023,” he said.

The medical park would have a total built up area of 33,000 square metres (sqm) spread across four buildings, according to a press statement issued by Redcon Group. Phase 1 comprises of an 11,000 sqm building that would house polyclinics, pharmacy, wellness centre, gym, diagnostic centre and lab as well as restaurants and coffee shops. Three additional buildings would be constructed of which one would be a hospital while the remaining two would house specialised medical centres, polyclinics and clinics.

The statement said that 100 polyclinics have been planned to serve patients as well as practitioners living within the project’s 30 kilometre radius.

Hazem Ashry, Co-Founder and Chairman of RMP said in the statement that the baseline for the design, configuration and healthcare amenities planned for the project was developed using the findings of a survey that examined the needs of patients and healthcare providers in East Cairo.
